Regular maintenance and repair of safety-related infrastructure are needed to mitigate risks and create a secure environment for boaters. Some safety improvements that might be made include repairing or replacing damaged railings, installing non-slip surfaces on docks and walkways, and ensuring proper lighting throughout the facility.

Regular inspections and maintenance of fire safety equipment, such as fire extinguishers and fire alarms, are also crucial to ensure the marina's preparedness for emergencies. Furthermore, marinas may need to invest in security measures, such as surveillance cameras, access control systems, or security fencing, to deter theft and vandalism.
